English standard name: General requirement of plastic disposal tableware
The new national standard GB18006.1-2009 “General Technical Requirements for Disposable Plastic Catering Utensils” officially came into effect on December 1, 2009. The new version of GB18006.1 specifies the technical requirements, product labeling, storage requirements, etc. for plastic disposable tableware, and specifies the heat resistance to water, heat resistance to oil, and water leakage performance of tableware.
The new standard specifies the definition and terminology, classification, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, product labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage requirements for disposable plastic tableware. The new standard clearly states that this standard is applicable to disposable tableware made of various thermoplastic materials.
Features:
1. The national standard for disposable plastic tableware has been established for the first time, putting an end to the chaotic state of no standard for non degradable disposable plastic tableware in the past, and reducing the hassle of every enterprise having to establish enterprise standards;
2. For the first time, the legal status of non degradable plastic tableware has been recognized in the form of national standards, and specific indicator requirements have been put forward for degradable plastic tableware, reducing the confusion caused by blind promotion of degradable plastic tableware by enterprises in the market in the past;
3. This standard eliminates the use of photo biodegradable plastic tableware due to limited degradation performance and resource waste, and instead adds biodegradable disposable tableware primarily focused on biodegradation, starch based plastic disposable tableware containing over 40% starch, and other plastic coated disposable tableware;
4. The scope of disposable tableware has been clearly defined, indicating that disposable tableware refers to utensils intended for dining or similar purposes, including disposable food boxes, plates, plates, knives, forks, spoons, chopsticks, bowls, cups, cans, pots, straws, etc., as well as disposable lined tableware with external supports, but does not include food packaging materials that have no intended dining purpose or similar purposes, such as fresh food trays, yogurt cups, jelly cups, etc.
5. Specific regulations have been made for the heat resistance to water, heat resistance to oil, water leakage, load-bearing capacity, and microwave oven temperature resistance of catering utensils, providing guidance for consumers to use them scientifically.
